I am going to a decorating cake class and I cut out pieces of cake to level it and I don't want to throw away those pieces of cake.What can I do with them?

I know there's a receipe that I can do. the other day I went to the market and in the bakery they were putting the pieces in the cupcake baking cups but I don't know what they did next.

Layer the pieces in a large bowl with steep sides. Mix up a box of pudding that 'goes' with whatever flavor cake you had. (chocolate pudding w/chocolate cake, vanilla or cheesecake flavored pudding w/white cake.) If it is a white cake, get a can of pie-ready fruit topping. If it is chocolate, chop up some chocolate candy bars (Mars, Heath or Hershey's work well.) You'll also need a large carton of non-dairy topping (whipped cream)
Layer the cake, pudding, fruit/chocolate, topping, then again, cake, pudding, fruit/chocolate, and end with topping. Garnish with fresh fruit or more chocolate.
(You can also pour some dessert wine or coffee or liqueur over the cake pieces.)
Cover and refrigerate overnight.
You can also make individual desserts using the cupcake liners in a muffin tin and cooling the trifles while still in the muffin tins.

if you take the cake and add eggs and milk and vanilla till you get a batter like consistency . you can use as a cup cake batter , just cook it at 300 degrees if you use a higher temp , it may give you a darker finished product. you could also take the left over cake , put it a food processor with some melted butter, cinnamon and brown sugar . blend till crumby. then get 2 cans of apple pie filling and put them in a glass baking dish , then take your cake crumb mix and place generously over the apples and bake in 350 degree oven let it cook for about 30 minute or until the top is really brown . you have just made an apple cobbler. enjoy it either way.
I don't think you would have needed suggestion on plain & simple eat-as-it-is option.I'm also sure the cake would be mainly be trimmings ;bits & pieces not warranting too much of effort.Crumble or just place bits into a nice glass bowl,top with whatever is handy,cream,custard,top of milk,jam or cut fruit,Ice cream if that works for you.Cover with cling film & eat when you are ready to enjoy,remember you will also be dealing with your decorated cake from the class.
Make a mousse , any flavor, lemon is good,....take a terrine ( a flat bottom dish) lined with plastic wrap pressed well into corners, layer cake into bottom of terrine, put mousse on top of cake,freeze.....when serving, tip terrine over ,slide out terrine, slice and put on plate, garnish....
