are there specific personality types for victims of suicide, based on the way they kill themselves?

I am doing a research paper on the suicides of the titanic survivors and some of the victims had some problems such as death of a family member or legal matters around the time of their death.  I was trying to figure out if there are certain ways of killing yourself that would suggest ones problems were deeper than legal matters, divorce,...I guess I can kind of see why someone might want to kill themselves if theyve lost the love of their life...but i read one of the victims killed themself after quest to find gold failed?!?   some people shot themselves, hung hemselves, jumped from a building and boat...is there something about there personality that would make ones method of death more painful than anothers?

Research mentions a condition of depression is common and another mentions alcohol (which is a depressant drug). There is a large amount of specimens so we'll have to be careful as where to point a finger. We can see a majority was of a wealthy financially. Fear from unknown adventures of the mirky depths would keep the person from making a different decision rather than suicide, as some suicides are rehearsed before the act of finality. jumping into the water doesn't fit into what I would call suicidal, more of provocation to make a choice to go down with the ship. In events such as this I kindly doubt suicide would be an option or an idea to envelope their lives with, but rather to find a safe-way out.
