Improvements:
1) Make sure your subject is in focus.
2) Just because it exists, doesn't mean you need to take a photo of it. There needs to be some sort of point and purpose to your photo, not just random snapshots of anything and everything.
3) pay attention to your background - quite often, it would look best if it was blurred. Being able to see all sorts of random stuff in the background is way too distracting.
4) Pay attention to your composition. Learn about the rule of thirds, leading lines, the effect of triangles, the golden mean, etc etc etc

No need to point out you're only 14. A 14 year old is perfectly capable of reading a few library books on photography and looking at online tutorials, as well as reading her camera manual.

The best one was the dog looking over the ledge.

The cat closeup was not in focus, so that's not good.

If the dog was looking at the ball in the photo, it would have been more powerful.

The first thing is to decide what type of photos you want to take, i.e. sports, animals, landscape, portraits, etc. Shoot everything, but see what you really like to shoot the most. Then learn more about composition and lighting, and your photos will improve.

Take a few classes in HS, and read some stuff online.

Here's my online portfolio, I like to shoot landscapes and wildlife mainly.

108_2185

Forget the pet pix. You know your pets and their expressions - others don't and they will not get the warm and fuzzy feelings from them that you do.

Do you notice how the 108_2185 (baseball legs & feet with diamond in background) somehow stands-out more than the others? By the way, it's an excellent image!

You have some talent that can definitely be developed, but need to move away from the comfortable subject matter.

Now here's your assignment...can you figure out WHY the baseball pic noted above is heads and tails above the rest?
