on Grannie's arthritis medicine because otherwise she couldn't get at it.

As we all know fumes collect in low places and can be ignited by static electricity caused by a light switch or any of the many other electrical devices in our homes.
These devices have saved many lives.
BP on the other hand is a prime example of what can happen when big business is allowed too much freedom. The risks of just what is happening were know long before the disaster happened by both the government and BP.
Every one assumed BP would follow guidelines etc when in truth the "bottom line' was what was more important.
And there is your answer-----money, profit, financial gain. Big companies like BP do not care about what is right or wrong, just how much money is realized and to hell with the environment.
