I have the electric Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Electric Breast Pump & it is DREADFUL. Slow, loud, painful. I can get more by hand! To get 90-120 mls it takes over an hour/ hour and a half! (3 fl oz). My research shows the pumps to consider are the Avent Isis IQ or the Madela Swing... what do you think do you have experiences of these? which is best for getting a lot of milk in a short time? Double pumps are too expensive so not going to do that. Thanks!!

I have used the Avent hand and electronic pump. I found both great but the electronic one was so much easier. Once I got going it took me 7 minutes to get 120ml of milk. I only expressed for my baby because she couldnt go on my breast for 2 weeks. So even though I didnt have the baby to encourage my milk, the pump was still great.
Some other girls who only expressed said that the Medela electronic pump was fantastic, but i didnt use it. The only ones I have been recommened by other mums is teh medela or avent. So I think whichever one you choose of these should be good.
I have heard lots of complaints about the Tommee Tippee one. It has awards but no one I have spoken to rated it.
I am sure you already know this, but tips I found really helped was to have a picture of the baby beside me or hold my baby when expressing, as it encourages milk flow and makes it quicker. Also, I found the position I was in made a huge difference to the speed too. The nurse also told me that your milk comes quicker when you hear your baby cry too!!
Hey I have an avent manual pump and I reckon it's great takes me 10-20. Minutes to get what I need some days I get a huge amount of milk some days I get next to nothing just depends on your milk. Try pumping first thing in the morning or last think at night that's when I get the most milk
Medela is way better. ADD: I just read the reviews and everyone had good things to say about Avent. They say it is quieter and is the same grade as the ones used in hospital. Since you want to tell people to shut up you can do your own damn research!!!! Your not going to find alot of people who OWN BOTH pumps. They are too much money they either have one or the other. So your going to get answers from people who use a certain one and say that they work the best. SO yeah, do your own damn research if you want to be rude!!!
I use the Avent hand pump and find it good, havent used madela so couldnt comment on that one. I have been battling with a very VERY cracked nipple for a month now so express from sore boob ( have been for 3 days now) to try and give it a chance to heal, I have found with the avent pump I can just do it gently ( dont squeeze handle the whole way). It can take me 20mins to get 60-80 mls sometimes but then this morning after a whole night of no pumping I got 100mls in 10mins! Thought my boob was gona burst! Hope all going well with you and your wee girl, apart from my 'broken' nipple everything is great with us, she sleeps and feeds so well, we are very lucky.
