I'm from out of state and I've never seen the shuttle launch. The program began when I'm in kindergarten. Looking for some advice on where to go and the best way to do this? What does it cost to see it live at the site? Is it expensive? Does anyone who has done it before have any tips?

The best place to view a Shuttle launch is on the Causeway leading into the Kennedy Space Center.
Go to www.NASA.gov and apply for tickets, you need to hurry, there is only going to be one more Shuttle launch.

Cape Canaveral is the best place. However, I live over 100 miles away in Tampa and you can still see the shuttle launching into space. However, I'm going to the Cape anyway because I have never seen a launch from that close either.
I don't think it would cost anything, and if it did, you'd mostly end up paying for parking or a small admission fee to use NASA's viewing site.

The very best viewing for general admission is the NASA causeway, about 7 miles away; tickets are required and they sell out very fast. ($56 per person, $46 age 11 and under.) Titusville is the second best clear viewing area (12 miles), and is the closest off-site/free location.
