Can you identify this archer?

So I remember looking up information on famous archers a while back. I wound up finding one who originated in a book from Asia. Although he was renowned for being an excellent archer (and, if I recall correctly, the book title had something to do with his archery), he was even more famous for his hand-to-hand combat skills. I simply CANNOT figure out what his name was, since I've cleared my history long ago and don't remember the exact phrase I used to look it up. The site I ended up finding it on was a forum comparing famous archers and I remember people arguing about whether he was really considered an archer above all else.

You now know pretty much everything I can remember. Can anybody assist me in this endeavor?

Huang Zhong seems pretty close, but I can't seem to find anything that would implicate a ridiculous prowess in martial arts.

I think the Man your referring to is the legendary Huang Zhong of Shu in the 3 Kingdoms Period he fought under Liu Bei and despite being 60 years of age showed formidable skills on the battle field even going as far as killing Xiahou Yuan at Mt Ding Jin. Huang Zhong is revered in China as one of the greatest archers in existence. He later died at the Batlle of Yi Ling when he was ironically shot by a stray arrow.
