How can I get a subtle message across about the dangers of feeding birds?

Feeding birds in an urban area is fun but it comes with its issues. Yes it attracts a multitude of species that are beautiful to look at, but beside changing their natural habits, there are issues. There are the disease due to the guano where seniors and children are the most susceptible. Premature deterioration of roofs and other building structures such as fences due to rot caused by the mold buildup from droppings. And not to mention cars and driveways covered with feces is also very repulsive. What can I do to get the message to the people in the neighborhood that feed birds.

Just to add that several neighbours have already replaced their roofs prematurely at a cost of over $10,000, and I believe this is due to the rot from the flocks of birds that now seem to always be there. Some of these birds are like rodents with wings.

You must have flocks of birds visiting these feeders. The worst problems I have with birds is not feeders, but tree lined streets. The birds perch in the trees and defecate on the cars parked below. However, we wouldn't want to remove the trees, would we? And feeding birds does not change their natural habits. You need to study up some more on feeding wild birds. As to the disease aspect, the rodents and roaches carry many more diseases in a urban area than do the birds. And these creatures come directly into homes where the degree of contact is much higher.
