I saw a large grey, long-legged bird with a long dun colored beak... What kind of bird is it?

Perhaps its most striking feature was a black stripe that started from its eye and went straight back perhaps three inches or so. Can you help me identify it and perhaps even link me to a picture?

I checked in wikipedia and it is not a yellow-crowned night heron. I don't think it had any sort of "crown" feathers, and it was essentially all grey except for that black stripe from the eye back (with no white around it).

could look at yellow crowned night heron, if in the US.
...additional information needed. what are you doing using wiki for a bird identification guide. (just google image the bird).. what color were the feathers delineating the "striking black" stripe (how white are your white pants if you wear them for a week?)...what part of the world?? relative size?
