After a dream run, did Germany play Below Par Football?
Well, after their performance against Australia, England, and especially Argentina, nobody thought that they would lose to Spain, who were not expected to go this far. (In fact, both the finalists werent expected to achieve this milestone)

Germany played their best even against the Spanish side, but the trouble was that their steam roller came across a big, strong boulder,i.e, Spanish team which is brimming with world class players. The Germans were taken by surprise by the Spanish style of ball possession.,which caused the Germans to exhaust too much. The Germans left too many gaps to allow the Spanish side to manouver easily. The Spanish winning goal came late, but it was very much coming.
1. Who are you talking about? Holland and Spain were picked to reach the final 4. 2. Germany was the surprise team....lets not forget the news after Ballack's injury. 3. Argentina was NEVER one of the favorites this year....it was bandwagon fanboys that picked them because of their easy run in the group stage and the help they recieved against Mexico. Argentina's defense was amongst the worst and they were not tested until the Germany game. 4. Spain has the best midfield in the world.......I suggest you do some research on this game before asking another question.
Problem was, Spain done their utmost to ensure that game never sparked. They just sat on the ball ,pushed it around and basically killed the game. As they have done all tournament, Spain hold the ball, work for a goal and then set up shop. Germany thrive on a flowing game, Spain do not play a flowing game. And I think Germany's inexperience in the midfield showed. They were unable to force their way into the gaame. Spain were just the better team on the night but they do not necessarily play the best football.
Germany did not play below par. Spain was simply the better team that night. Nevermind the defense line, even the midfield line was inpenetrable. Spain's posession was simply awesome. Germany played well. They just lost to a better team.
i dont know what happened to germany's play, they have problem with their strategy, just imagine they only have klose for forward. Another problem is muller was not playing, he's one of the most speed player in their team.... and i think Paul the octopus prediction has make them down and loose hope because this octopus prediction was always right..... i guess it is spain's luck this time...
