I have a 1987 Camaro with the 305 carburetor.
The car was running a little rough, and now tries, but just cant kick over, it's close though.
I've been slowly taking it apart, and found that gas wasn't going to the carburetor, it was dry.
I was thinking the ignition module, I've already checked the distributor, ignition coils, etc, any ideas?
I just tried putting a little gas directly into the Carb, still won't start

you say you put gas into the carburetor and it still won,t start? try priming it and close the choke and see if it will fire. if no fire check the spark at the plugs . on the older GM cars there is a module and a pick-up under the distributor cap, maybe 1 of those are bad. i know by experience if that wire burns off the pick-up you won,t get started. if it is the pick-up then you will need to pull the distributor to put 1 in.

make sure you have gas in the tank. take the fuel line off the carb and turn the motor over to see if gas is coming out and not just a trickle. if not could be bad fuel pump, stopped up filter [probably underneath on frame], or the strainer on the sending unit in the tank is stopped up. take a plug wire off the top of the distributor and hold back close to opening and see if you have spark while turning the motor over. sounds like you have a fuel problem unless there it internal motor damage. keep a large rag handy to smother any flames should you have a problem with the carb and always keep a fire extinguisher ready when dealing with fuel situations.

If gas isn't getting to the carb, I would suspect a fuel problem rather than an ignition problem.
I would start by checking the fuel pump and fuel filter.
