To provide you with an accurate answer the year, make, model and engine size is almost mandatory. The job usually calls for 1 - 1 1/2 hours labor in book time. Your better off changing the axle rather than just the CV Joint itself. If the joint is making noise it's usually too far gone to replace it and the price of axles have gone way down over the years. Also the labor to replace the whole axle is the same or even possibly less. Good luck and hope this helps.

On some french cars you don't have the option of replacing just the outer cv joint and you may have to buy the whole shaft. Then questions like is the car manual or auto and if it has ABS come into account. But a complete shaft isn't that expensive i would estimate around £80.00. If you purchase the drive shaft or cv joint yourself make sure your mechanic doesn't throw the old one away because it will more than likely be an exchange unit. Try EuroCar Parts
