Can I work on the Blue Angels as an AD in the Navy?

I'm in the Navy's DEP, with a contract for the rating AD. Will it be possible for me to work with the Blue Angles? If so how would I "put in" for that job? I understand that I will go where the Navy needs me, however I would love to be a part of the best team, in my mind, that there is.

First need to be fully qualified and proficient in your career field. In 2-3 years you can apply for a "Special Duty Assignment" with the Blue Angels.
When applying the look at the "Whole Person" i.e. they want you to be a Poster Child of the Navy and represent everything they Navy represents. You will be an ambassador to the Public.

All the orders in the Navy come out as people rotate and or transfer about. When you are up for orders you will contact your detailer. (it is done by computer now days). A list of open billets will be posted and you apply for the open position.

If there is an opening with the Blue Angles and you are ready for orders you can apply then. There are usually openings in Pensacola as it is a busy air station with a lot of people.

There is no guarantee where you will be personally working at anytime or which air craft you will work with.

I was in the Navy as an HM. I would have been at the hospital if I were to have been stationed there. However, everyone gets orders the same way. You have to have your sea/shore rotations. When you come up for orders you apply to go to that squadron, and if it is available there is a chance you can go.

you basically compete for a spot on the team when they announce new openings. there are minimum requirements before you are eligible.
