Religious people: Would you allow an atheist doctor to care for you?

I mean after all, we atheists are "immoral", so one of us being a doctor we must have an ulterior motive. We couldn't have truly altruistic intentions, could we?

Besides, in the end "God" will guide his/her hands, wouldn't "He"?

Your disbelief in God doesn't determine your medical skills. As long as the atheist doctor didn't try and force his beliefs on me I'd be fine. Same goes with Islamic, Buddhist, Agnostic etc doctors. I don't give a flip what you believe as long as you can give me good service I'll be happy. Not all atheists are immoral as you say. Some atheists have done less wrong in their lives than a Christian has. Just because you believe Jesus and God are not real doesn't mean you have no morals.

Interesting. I have 2 excellent doctors (and they're both cute, too). My primary care physician and my podiatrist. I have no idea what religion they are, if any. Nor do I give a shyt. They are very good at what they do and that's all I care about.
Get real. If your house is on fire or you are being attacked in your house, are you going to ask the firemen or police if they are atheist before you let them help you? I think **not**!
Blessings on your Journey!

If they are a doctor they have taken an oath to do no harm and help you. I wouldn't question their faith beforehand in an urgent situation. But choosing a Family Practitioner I would rather have a doctor that shares my beliefs if I could find one.

I honestly couldn't tell you much about my doctor and dentist except that they both went to Harvard and were classmates. It's how I got my dentist - I asked my doctor.

Oh, and no, the gods and goddesses don't work that way. They gave me higher brain functions so I could find my way to a healer if something happens to me and I need one. I am no god-botherer.
