A question about the Coptic church and slavery?

I'm constantly debating religion with a coptic person and I am wondering whether the coptic church or individual clergy ever condoned slavery specifically. I was trying to research early america (if there were any coptic leaders here at all) and other times/places and have had no luck. I know this is a fairly arcane subject, but there u go.
All of their pronouncements are in arabic so i am unable to research their old official statements.

I highly doubt it. Egypt itself has been under colonial rule/influence since before the time of Christ, and the Christians in Egypt have lived under Islamic rule for over 1000 years. If they condoned slavery, as the barely tolerated minority, they would be calling for their own enslavement.
