What's better after-market or Original equipment?

Now, of course Original Equipment is better fofr cars, but generally there are after-market products that are just as good. However, after-market is not good for all components of the automobile.

Would a a/c compressor, orifice tube, and accumulator fall into the category of not being good when bought after-market?

Aftermarket in my experience is normallyy better as long as you don't go out and buy a $5 compressor for your car. As long as you buy from a reputable company, there is nothing wrong with aftermarket in my opinion.
