What did you think of Catcher in the Rye?
What did you think about it? What did you like most? Least?
Honestly, I haven't finished it yet. But I love how he writes!
Would you like to see another book written in the same way? Or.. not?

I thought Holden was a whiny little b*tch. I can't stand that book.
Actually it was written for adults.

I quite liked the book, too. I liked how it was written from the teenage perspective but sometimes Holden's whining did get on my nerves. But no, I wouldn't want to se another book like because I don't think it's the kind of book you can replicate but I'm grateful for it's existence because without there would be no such thing as a novel written for teenagers.

i actually really enjoyed it. i love the narrative, how it's first person and feels very personal, like you can hear Holden's thoughts. i have also read "Franny and Zooey" by Salinger, which i also enjoyed. it's a similar narrative, similar colloquial words, but third person. i liked how simplistically he sees thinks, like sex and religion: "I like Jesus and all" yet he's an atheist. i also like how it's set over two or three days, and nothing really happens! i really really enjoyed it.

I really identified with Holden's view of the world as "phonies."
