Other that practice and playing. BF2 is the first FPS I have personally owned, and I don't want to be the noob holding the team back. Any suggestions, tips, and hints would be appreciated.

FOR ME IT WAS KINDA A HARD GAME AT FIRST BUT ONCE YOU GET THE HANG OF IT, ITS REALLY FUN AND YOU WILL GET BETTER AND BETTER QUICKLY. I STARTED ALWAYS SNIPING AND THAT WAS OKAY, BUT BY FAR THE BEST IS THE MEDIC PACKAGE BECAUSE IF YOU JUST STAY AROUND YOUR TEAM AND THROW OUT MEDIC PACKS TO PEOPLE YOU RANK UP REALLY REALLY FAST AND THAT MAKES THE GAME MUCH EASIER IT SEEMS. THAT OR JUST GET ON A STATIONARY GUN AND HAVE AT EM.

Battlefield games are always about teamwork. Try helping out your teammates instead of going for the most kills and stuff. I'm pretty sure Battlefield 2 has spotting in it so do that very often. Other than those keep playing and you'll get better.

Sorry, there isn't a way other than practice, if you haven't already you should play the campaign, it'll get you used to the guns more, practice is pretty much the only way, you should also try to use different tactics and weapons.
