i'm looking to get a new laptop but i don't want to spend more then $600 on it. i want it to be able to play games like left 4 dead and fable and such. could anybody give me some laptop models that fit the category?

You can get a Dell Inspiron 15R, however you will only be able to play those games on low settings because of the video card on the machine. For under $600, you probably won't find many good computers for gaming. If you went to $700, you could though. You can get one model of the 15R for $699 I believe, and it performs MUCH better and you could play the games with higher detail.
