What size aquarium for guppy fry?

I had 2 guppy fry in a fry box for 1 month now. But I found another 7 and the box isn't going to be surfactant for them. Keeping into consideration that this is a temporary aquarium for them until they get big enough to go back into my community tank, would a 17ltr be surfactant or should I be looking at something in the 20's?

Guppies will multiply to fill whatever space you have. So you may as well go with the biggest tank you can afford / have space for / are allowed. 

Sure you can raise some guppy fry in a 17L, by the time they get too big for it they can survive in the main tank.  

But personally I would look for a 60-80L tank. Reason is that when you get bored with guppies you then have the space to keep and breed other fish as well.

The bigger tank wont cost much more overall to set up, it only needs basic filtering for a few guppy fry, heater cost doesn't change much with the power, and you don't need a fancy stand, lights and hood for a breeding tank. 

I have reared baby guppies in my 18L tank, and 20-30 fry was fine in there short term. But I just used that tank cos I had it laying around already. If I was going to buy a new tank, I would go bigger as they are more versatile.

a total of nine growing guppies can be efficiently kept in app. 7-10 gallon tank. maybe 5 is stretching it, but they may get along fine in 5 gallons too.
