How can I stop a stone chip in windshield from spreading?

Question

A stone hit my windshield a few days ago, it is actually rather large (1 inch x 1 inch), with a few small half circles of crack around it.  I know it will need to be repaired properly someday, but I just don't have the cash right now.  Is there something I can do just stop it from spreading?   Or even something I could do as a half fix?
I heard rumors of glass fillers and stuff.  

fyi - it is not in my line of sight, at all.   Also, my insurance does not cover it, at all.

either get the whole window replaced or the cheaper alternative....

fix-a-windshield... buy it from walmart or autozone. works good but only temporary replacement until you get it changed only costs like $15-$20

e8000 glue from walmart or michales arts and craft store. put a little glue on the crack and a little outside the crack and u should be good.

Most (maybe all) auto glass shops offer windshield repair using the Novus system. Expect to pay about $80 but the results are worth it. The usual warranty (Safelite auto glass, for example) is not to spread for the lifetime of the windshield. If you try a half-fix the spot can't be repaired properly later, and you can expect it to spread.

Auto glass companies have a gel that is injected into the chip to fill it and keep it from cracking.A chip as large as yours may be too big to be fixed.You'll have to take it to an auto glass shop and have them look at it.They'll be
 able to tell you if it's repairable or not
