What is your opinion on putting a 1 year old in a baby bouncer?

My 1 year old son is in day care and has started 3 weeks ago it is a home one. The daycare lady puts my 1 year old in a bouncer and i know that he hates to be in one since he started crawling, so i have gave mine away. every time i pick him up at all different times he has always been put into the same bouncer that he is way too old for. i only leave him there for under 3 hours. i picked him up at 10:30, 11:30, 12:00 and 12:30 and every time he is in that chair i surprise her with new times. i addressed my concern to her and have even told her the story that he hates it and i feel he is too old for it i even said i do not want him to be put into the chair, but she still is doing it i am pulling him from the daycare am i doing the right thing, is this wrong for him to be always put into the chair??? pls help im a new mom

You definetly want to be comfortable when you have to leave baby somewhere.
And you sitter is not doing her job right by not taking your advice on how to care for baby.
What if you needed to give more complex advice you would feel horrible the whole time away from baby.
You are not confident in this sitter and should move to someone who will give you assurance.

I think you are right for pulling him from that daycare. You left the woman specific instructions to not put him in that chair and she did anyways. If you think he's too old for the chair, then that means he's probably too big for it and therefore it is dangerous. She could be putting your son in harm's way. I would actually consider reporting her for this, but taking him from her care is the best thing to do right now.

If you have told her that you don't want her in that chair anymore, then she shouldn't be putting him in the chair at all. You are doing the right thing in pulling him from the day care for no other reason than she's not listening to you.

It sounds weird to me that someone would put a 1 year old in one of these things. They do have weight limits on them and at 1 year they should be past that limit so that would make it a safety hazard. Plus regardless of what she is doing if you've told her that that is not what you want her to do with your child and she completely disregards what you said then that is not right. I would take my child out of there too if she refuses to do what you say.

is she licensed? if so ask her for her papers and check them against the State board file a complain she insist she needs to be paid a visit from the state inspectors.i think it's weird that every time you come to pick him up he's in that chair. it's considered unsafe for your lil'one anyways something sounds wrong on her end. don't forget you also have every right to pop in unexpectedly and ovserve her take notes pictures and sent them to the Board.
