Well most likely to practice the route of course, most people want to pass on their first try. I don't think that's considered cheating because you are just practicing. There is nothing wrong with practicing. That's how people get better at things.

1. Parallel Parking. If you pass this correctly the first time you go on to....(SEE NUMBER 2)
2. 3-Point Turn. If you stay inside the box, while pulling up to the curb, reversing, and straightening your vehicle so that it can exit the box. HINT: YOU ARE ALLOWED TO REVERSE AS MANY TIMES AS NEEDED! if you do this correctly the first time you go onto...(SEE NUMBER 3)
3. Backing Up 100 feet or until the instructor tells when. HINT: (HAVE ONE HAND ON THE STEERING WHEEL AT ALL TIMES AND SLOWLY LEAVE UP ON THE BRAKE AND PRESS LIGHTLY ON THE ACCELERATOR WHILE LOOKING TO THE BACK WINDOW TO SEE WHERE YOU ARE BACKING UP.) if you do this correctly the first time....(SEE NUMBER 4)
4. Pulling up to the stop sign and stopping: HINT: STOP AT THE STOP SIGN WHERE YOU CAN SEE THE WHITE LINE FROM YOUR WINDSHIELD. THIS IS A BIG MISTAKE FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE. CONSIDER THE WHITE LINE AS A CROSSING WALK. if you do this correctly the first time, pull into the parking spot, once instructed by the instructor where he/she will pass you, hopefully.
Good Luck :D *For your information, these steps has been by Maryland's driving test course, which may very your states course set up slightly. The hints are what I found useful for myself and how i passed the first time*

Simply because they want to past the test. Some of the beginner drivers think that they will do good on the test if they know the route in advance.
