Can you explain the difference between our awareness and our consciousness?

Our awareness is actually all encompassing...on some level, right? It stretches on and on forever and there are no divides...
Is consciousness limited to point of view? Can there ever be an unlimited point of view?

This whole video series is awesome...but this particular one, #5, helped me understand some things I've been contemplating recently...

Actually I never really thought there was a big difference between the two words...but I can see now that there is a difference...a big one!

What are your thoughts/views/perspective on this?

Consciousness is a quality of your mind, but it is not your total mind. Your mind can be both conscious and unconscious; but when you transcend your mind, there is no unconsciousness and no corresponding consciousness. There is awareness.

Awareness means that the total mind has become aware. Now the old mind is not there but there is the quality of being conscious. Awareness has become the totality; the mind itself is now part of the awareness. We cannot say that the mind is aware; we can only meaningfully say that the mind is conscious.

Awareness means transcendence of the mind, so it is not the mind that is aware. It is only through transcendence of the mind, through going beyond mind, that awareness becomes possible.

Consciousness is a quality of the mind, awareness is the transcendence; it is going beyond the mind. Mind, as such, is the medium of duality, so consciousness can never transcend duality. It is always conscious of something, and there is always someone who is conscious. So consciousness is part and parcel of the mind, and mind, as such, is the source of all duality, of all divisions – whether they are between subject and object, activity or inactivity, consciousness or unconsciousness. Every type of duality is mental. Awareness is non-dual, so awareness means the state of no mind.

May you always shine like a Star and be fragrant like a Flower,
God bless your Life with infinite Love and Peace, Amen.

Sounds right on the awareness..but I think , as I understand the Bible..is that your conscienctious-ness which I think is what you meant cause consciousness is just being awake and aware and there is no difference..conscience is how God talks to you and wants you to limit your views only on His Teachings which is the Whole knowledge of right and wrong, the Universe and the GodHead and not to let it wonder off to areas with out self direction as to get into Satans realm of confusion, deceit, and lies. This would be called baggage and you know how hard it is to get rid of your baggage once you have acquire it in your life. It takes so little time to acquire and a life time to get rid of it. I am hesitant to see ones offers of www.'s with out knowing who the person is that is giving this out. Everything you allow in your head, sticks, and if it is not centered on Scripture, I would be aware of the danger.

Awareness occur in different states of Consciousness(like awareness in waking, sleeping, dreaming and so on) and those states affect our awareness, what and how of the awareness. In other words, awareness is a structure in the state of consciousness, 'higher' the level of consciousness better/truer is the awareness of reality

Hi there KC♥!

Awareness brings realization to consciousness. The Proper Priority of ones Perceptions is what allows discernment of wisdom in knowledge gained.

Consciousness is the capacity for awareness.

Everyone is conscious to some degree, but not everyone is aware.

Awareness requires cultivation. Consciousness is a natural condition.
