The majority of Hollywood artists (actors, actresses and directors) that don't have American citizenship are from the UK, or Australia/New Zealand. Why does this happen? Why not for example, instead of having Christopher Nolan or Peter Jackson there are more French directors in Hollywood studios?

What do you mean "why"? Is there really an answer for it? Just... because. It's probably because of the language barrier, but there is a lot of people also from South America and other continents.
There are lots of foreign films that play in America, that Americans know. There's even an Oscar category for it.
