adopting my nephew with parents consent, help.?

I am going to adopt my nephew, he is in full custody of his mother,my sister, his dad is a deadbeat and has been out of his life for years now.
since she is giving me consent for the adoption, what do i do to make things legal?
she lives in tennessee, and i live in wisconsin.
i understand there's court fees but i want to keep a lawyer out of this cuz they are freaking expensive,
i just want to know the general process involved, and if possible the step by step process, if anyone is knowledge in adoption law of wisconsin.
this is muchappreciatedd and if u know the number or email of someone who can advise me thru the process it would be greatlyappreciatedd.

i also live in Wisconsin. I would first go see a lawyer and they will guide you. You will need to get foster parent certified and have a home study done. Both bio parents need to give permission in this/

Even tho the father is a deadbeat you cannot adopt a child in any of the 50 states without having both birth parents to have their rights as parents legally terminated. There are ways of doing this without having them sign, but it all gets complicated and it is really something that a lawyer needs to be involved with.
In a lot of private open adoptions the total cost of court and lawyer fees are less then the cost of a good used car! Like about $2000 to $4000.

There are just somethings in life that deservee to be done the right way and done by professionals! I would not take my child's life in my hands by doing any DIY surgeries and I would not take her future on without a lawyer, but that is just me.

Sorry, but there's no way to avoid a lawyer unless you get your nephew (if older than 12) and his mother to sign all of the papers without any argument.

it rather is obtainable yet no longer as common as you will possibly think of. My husband & I actual have spoken lots approximately gaining custody of our niece & nephews who're ignored and abused. CPS has been on their case somewhat some situations and at one time my inlaws have been going to undertake the oldest till my father in regulation have been given ill. This has been taking place in view that my first born nephew replaced into born it rather is now very almost 12yrs in the past! it rather is loopy! somewhat some criminal human beings have stepped in, police been to the domicile, one father in penal complex & 2 youngsters faraway from the mothers custody to the fathers. it rather is a large number & regrettably so are the youngsters. communicate to a criminal expert, collect info and save it very properly documented. one element we do is regularly touch base with family contributors. we can checklist what we hear and notice. We touch CPS yet over lower back. We communicate over with the toddlers. We communicate over with my inlaws the youngsters grandparents. We save it open and up front. instructors are spoken to so as that they are able to deliver comments. We do each thing we are able to and each thing we are instructed to do. If he's prepared to easily sign custody over then it won't be to lots trouble. the mum desires to be contacted nonetheless. Legally no finished custody can ensue if she does no longer sign her rights away. She could be contacted and surprising decide for her baby back. I actual have heard of that occuring. stable success. I had a chum who observed her niece & nephew. It took 2yrs for the completed technique to ensue.
