there's a lot one of my fav is japanese home cooked meal nikujaga ( beef and potato stew ) beside that there's ramen ,soba ( chilled, pan fried or served with soup) , udon ,grilled fish , donburi ( rice bowl with many kinds of toppings ) , tempura, sukiyaki, shabu2, chawan mushi ( egg custard ),yuba ( bean curd skin, very good and very healthy ) and a lot others. for dessert you can try wagashi or amitsu or daifuku (my fav).

Like listed above (and probably below) Sashimi Rice Sushi Tempura (in a way, deep-fried prawn and vegetables) miso soup ramen ....a lot more! Because the Japanese were isolated on the coasts (there wasn't much land for farming), most of their diet was dependent on seafood.

Japanese food is great to cook at home as it is quick and easy. The secret is to make sure you have the right pantry ingredients and Japanese is usually best. My favourites to cook at home include vegetable tempura, karaage (fried chicken), Miso soup and Nikujyaga. Check out the link below for the recipes and the essential pantry ingredients.
