Do parents who home-school their children get a reduction in their municipal taxes?
Since at least a large chunk of municipal taxes go to the local education system, if parents are allowed to home-school, would they be allowed a tax exemption by whatever goes to it?

No. It's just like going to a private school. The best you could do is have a state run program that pays for some of their curriculum. But generally homeschool families still pay school tax. The state actually makes money off most of them because they use less state resources for eduction than regular students.
There are no tax breaks, grants, funding and so forth allotted for homeschoolers and the person who tells you there is such a thing is full of (insert own wording).
While it would be nice to receive perks like that, I honestly don't see it happening in my lifetime.
The only time a parent or family can get price breaks on things is by showing a Homeschool ID card at places like bookstores (a percent off for books used specifically for educational purposes), Zoos, Museums & Aquariums and things like that.
There are places that will offer special 'incentives' for homeschoolers at certain times of the year and places like Colonial Williamsburg & Jamestown run homeschool enrichment programs every year ( Colonial Williamsburg 2x's a yr & Jamestown 1x a yr).
While a break on municipal taxes would be nice, don't hold your breath ( dying will only get your family hit with MORE taxes ie Death Tax).
Not anywhere that I know of. Homeschool parents pay the same taxes, even though a large portion of it goes to the public schools, as the rest of the communities taxpayers- including those who chose not to have children, those who have children who have already left home, those who send their children to private school, etc.
