Flying to Detroit on business next month. Need suggestions...?
Need suggestions on what to check out while in town and need to know what areas of town to avoid (crime etc.). Looking to get pictures since I'm a photographer. Won't have a lot of time to spend there... Only a few hours on a Friday and Monday. A mall suggestion won't be bad either since I'm taking a female co worker with me. LOL! Doesn't necessarily need to be tourist attractions.

Downtown you can check out the fountain in Hart Plaza. It's quite spectacular when it's working. And since you'd be in that general neighborhood, go by the entrance to Joe Louis Arena to see the statue in front of the place. The riverfront can also be fascinating in its own way. Don't ignore Belle Isle. It's a park on an island in the Detroit River which was laid out by the same person who designed New York City's Central Park. Even the bridge to get there is neat.
I agree with the photo ops - Belle Isle, Hart Plaza - also the Spirit of Detroit and Joe Louis' Fist statues - all quintessential Detroit.
I have to disagree with the shopping - Somerset is the same old same old mall corporate mall stores (Banana Republic, Macys, Tiffanys) - try downtown Birmingham, Plymouth or Northville for independent boutiques - all short drives from the airport.
ditto on Mops suggestions for photo ops. Make sure you do it during the day. For shopping head out to Somerset. It's about a 45 minute drive from the airport but, it is well worth it.
A sling seems a sturdy concept. you will nevertheless have the potential to apply your palms and be attentive to that your son would be risk-free. you will ought to purchase yet another seat in case you place him in his automobile seat which extra value on your trip. Its as much as you however the sling sounds superb.
