RIP General Skandor Akbar?

I know a lot of people may not be familiar with his work, but I thought he was one of the greatest managers of all-time...PERIOD! He worked with many wrestlers like Kamala, Ted DiBiase (Million Dollar Man) and even Steve Austin when he first started in the business.

Three things stood out for me...one his interviews and the way he ran down his opponents, such as referring to Kerry Von Erich as "Horseface." He also was "responsible" for burning Hacksaw Jim Duggan with a fireball during a match against Kamala. But his greatest accomplishment to me is how he gained natural heel heat. He was a top heel in Bill Watt's old Mid-South and they used to hold a quarterly Super Show in the Superdome. One year, the New Orleans police showed up at his hotel room prior to the card and advised him there were serious threats against his life and they weren't sure they could guarantee his safety. They presented him a bullet-proof vest and advised him he wasn't going to be in the show without wearing it. THAT's heel heat!

RIP General (Jim Wehba), thanks for the memories. I hope everyone here not familiar with him gets the chance to check out some of his stuff on the Net to see what a real heel was like back in the day.

i do remember him from back in the day. he was one of if not THE greatest heel i have ever seen!! he had many fantastic moments from the old days. i do remember him in the wccw when the von erichs, the freebirds, and kamala started back in the old days. i was living in texas near dallas at the time when the matches were at the sportatorium in dallas. he had to have an escort just to get in the sportatorium! he was the best at the heel manager thing. a lot of the new managers and wrestlers could learn from watching him in action!!

NOTE: but after the matches and the spotlights were off he did a lot of work for different charities! he was really a generous person in his normal day to day life.

may he rest in peace! thanks for the memories!!!

He wasn't only a legend, he was a seriously GREAT man. He was like a crazy grandpa to me and a close friend of my family. He trained my parents a few years ago. For over three years we saw him 3-4 days a week. He'll be missed.

RIP Akbar! <3
