He is a good player to start with. He has the confidence to play for the big occassion, even at the young age of 17. But I doubt his fitness for the longer version of the game. He is under-weight. I hope he does not get through those fitness problems. And also he needs to swing the bowl both ways, which he is unable to do at the moment. Bowlers like him come on view with great promise but are unable to keep up with the momentum for a long time. Asif, tanvir are all examples of it. But comparing aamir with sohail tanvir, I wud put my money on sohail. Not because he is a friend of mine. (Aamir had also been a student of mine, of course not a cric student.) But for the reason that sohail has got both-way swing and to go with it an odd action too. Wasim akram fancies a lot about aamir but aamir has to do a lot of effort to pull-on in this batsman-friendly cricket world. Irfan pathan also promised a lot, but has not got much of that flare now. Aamir can come up with something great, but only his hardwork and time will show us wat he is capable of.
