no stand by power on my mother board and it won't start. is this my motherboard?
it just stopped working one day. asus pc-dl delux motherboard. sparkle 550w 8pin power supply. I have it all plugged in. power switch is attached. when I try to start it, nothing happens. nothing. not a single fan, and no lights, no beeps. there's a stand by power light on the board, but it doesn't light up.
do you think there is a possibility it could be the motherboard, or do you think its all about the power supply
I'm leaning toward the pwr supply

I agree its most likely your power supply. but i cannot be there to be sure. Power supplies are generally robust so check for fuses plug first then use a phase tester to check cable is ok. After that connect a volt meter across the motherboard cable between the black and the orange wires. if this shows five volts then all is good and the problem is your motherboard. some crack maybe.
Possible items to look at for this problem are: Power Supply, Ram memory, CPU, Motherboard.
If the fan on the power supply did not revolve when you plugged in the power cord into the wall socket it could be the power supply. Use an inexpensive power supply tester ( available at Newegg, Microcenter, etc. ) to check out the power supply. To check ram memory - if motherboard has more than one stick of ram in it and does not require two sticks to be in to run - then take out one stick ( Bank 0 is the spot usually required to have memory in to run ) and see if the computer works - test each memory stick the same way.
It could be some component of the motherboard that is not working. I once had a motherboard that took a surge to the USB ports - motherboard would no longer function at all - put the memory, cpu, power supply on to a different motherboard and it all worked perfectly.
