As most of you already know Metal is a very diverse genre with numerous sub-genres. So when reading previous questions about people naming their 10 favorite metal bands, 25 favorite, etc. I found it interesting that many of the answers included mainly bands from just one or two different sub-genres of Metal, so I thought I would mix it up a bit and ask this question again in a different way.
MQ1: Name your five favorite Metal sub-genres and some of your favorite bands from each sub-genre.
MQ2: Do the bands you just listed pretty much match up to your favorite Metal bands overall, or do most of your favorite Metal bands come from the same sub-genre?
BQ: What other music genres do you like, besides Metal?

The bands I listed are equal among my non-existent list of favorites. [With the exception of Metallica because they, in my opinion, became pretty terrible.]
I also like Rock, such as Blue Oyster Cult, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana and Godsmack.
I can't really answer because I've just gotten into metal, but I like Children of Bodom, Coheed and Cambria, and Dragonforce. I love all genres of music, but not really into rap, hip hop, or R&B. Will listen to just about anything though.
