I'm throwing a party, but my friend is Jewish. Says he can't eat pork?
We are having BBQ pork sandwiches... Can I just feed him a ham sandwich instead?

So I can't feed him any meat that comes from a cow, at all?

He doesn't like chicken so I think I will just make catfish fingers for him!
Thanks everyone!

MJ,
The word "Kosher" is used to describe what those of the Jewish faith can consume. They are living under the old covenant with God and must eat according to the Old Testament.
They can eat beef, but it must be Kosher cuts and never from the rear portions of the cow. This is why in cities with large Jewish populations, like New York, you have have regular butcher stores and you have "Kosher" butcher stores. When shopping you will sometimes see prepared foods that are declared Kosher, a prime example is the Kosher brand hotdogs.
I would suggest just serving a choice of BBQ pork or BBQ chicken, and would say nothing to anyone about the reason. I am not Jewish, but I would rather have the chicken, because I am more of a chicken and beef kind of guy.
When you "truly" accept someone as a friend, and not just a buddy, you accept all they bring with them, including their religion. To make him appear "different" in front of other people is not being a true friend. So don't forget a jar of Kosher pickles and have a good time.
Thats true Jewish people cannot have pork, ham, bacon or anything from a pig. It takes place in the old testament when God told the israelites that they should on eat animals that chew their cud. But you can feed him cow. Cause it chews its cud. Do a steak type of sandwich. Like shredded beef with some fresh fruits.
the subsequent time you troll a query, get the archives maximum staggering. Jewish people who're Kosher do not devour beef or shellfish...............maximum Jewish human beings do not save Kosher however. Being Jewish and being Kosher are 2 quite some issues.
iNSTEAD OF bbq PORK, why not have BBQ CHICKEN instead then he can enjoy the party and won't be out of place......How would you feel if you went to a party and everyone else was eating steak and you couldn't, so they just gave you a cheese sandwich instead....
Have some sloppy joes made with beef or ground turkey or have some pulled chicken and add BBQ sauce to it for anyone who would choose to eat healthier.
