Have you ever used the name your own price method when booking a hotel with priceline? Did it work for you ? how exactly does it work? what deal were you able to get? I have never used it but wanted to try it any info will help me

I used it. I used it for both my flight and hotel. But how it works is you enter a city. Then you select areas and enter a price you are willing to pay. They will either reject it or approve it. If it is rejected, you change a detail, and can enter a new price. I got a 3 1/2 - 4 star hotel (It's rated differently on different sites) hotel in Honolulu for $80. I heard of people getting that same hotel for even less (60). I say give it a shot. But I wouldn't recomend getting hotels lower than 3 stars, cause lower than that and who knows what you'll get.

Yes I have but it is not as simple as it sounds. YOu can overbid, Please try this site Betterbidding.com It is an excellent resource for priceline and hotwire. They also have an inventory of known hotels that people have "won" on priceline and hotwire so you can check your area. There are also hints and tricks to use these opaque providers. If you use this site, use the link provided for priceline or hotwire so that they get some sort of pay for their work. There is also biddingfortravel.com but I use betterbidding.com
