my tv suddenly turns widescreen?

so when I came home,I turned on the TV,it suddenly turns widescreen,I've checked the options and menu of the tv and there's no widescreen option,help??
Btw,its an LG XD 29"

It's most likely due to the source material you are receiving. Instead of the material being broadcast at the 4:3 aspect ratio it has now been changed to the 16:9 ratio.
