Well, they're not 100% DSLR cameras. Instead, they are sometimes called "interchangeable lens cameras". They have a large sensor that is way bigger than those found in basic P&S cameras that are compareable to DSLRs.

yes they are sort of.This is a great little camera for amateurs looking for DSLR quality pics.
Very very simple to use, there are literally 3 buttons which does everything for u.
Many scene modes with a detailed description and sample foto makes it easy to understand them.
Sweep panorama is cool.
