Where is the dash light rheotstat located on a 97 VW Jetta?

I'm looking to replace the rheostat or bypass it since my dash lights are not working. I'm not sure how to locate it and what I will need to disassemble. Please help if you know.

Thanks!

This is just the backlighting on the dash. All the turn indicators/high beams work fine.

ok, i'd placed initiate with the aid of putting on the distributor cap you got it relatively is issue-free to do, purely align the recent cap so it relatively is dealing with a similar direction because of the fact the previous one and pass one spark plug twine at a time from the previous cap to the recent cap (this determines in what order the spark plugs hearth, IE it relatively is significant to get them a similar way they're now.), together as you're at it replace the rotor that is going under the distributor cap it relatively is in basic terms a greenback or 2 at any vehicle areas save. purely pull the previous rotor promptly up and placed the recent one on a similar way. The distributor cap itself could have 2 clips or 2 screws on it purely unclip the previous one and placed the recent one on the suited same way. i'd wager the reason it relatively is stalling is using the fact even the least quantity of water in the distributor cap would reason a quick and stops the spark plugs from firing or lead them to mis hearth. often you spot this while somebody drives with the aid of quite some water and stalls out on the different area. i'd wager your distributor cap isn't making sturdy touch with the rotor and thanks to this your vehicle won't initiate. Any sturdy autoparts save or library would have manuals with photos to steer you thru this technique. sturdy success!
