Do you think the media pushes interracial relationships for minorities moreso than for whites?

I feel like for every 10 minorities/people of colour they portray in the media, half of them are in interracial relationships, and they're almost ALWAYS in relationships with White people, whereas you rarely see Black+Hispanic, Black+Asian, or Asian+Hispanic relationships, and most Whites portrayed are in relationships with other Whites.

Yes, and it so disgusting. They had one of my favorite actors Omar Epps dating a white women on the show "House." Not once, I have seen him with a black chick on the show. And the show Nip Tuck, it was the same way with Sanaa Lathan. *Pucking*

Edit***You know in the NBA when they are showing people wives in the stand, they will never show the black men black wives but they will show a non black wife in a minute.

I don't know. I would say that to a degree most of these relationships are driven by both sides.

I do know that for some sexes of some minority groups (namely Black men or Asian women) people are surprised if and when they are not with White people.

There is also the mentality that if you "have something going for you" and you are thought of as a minority (and this includes Latinos but they are White in most cases, actually), that there is the subtle feeling that you shouldn't be with a member of your own kind.

Live and let live is my motto but I don't like presumptions.

No, minorities just buy into the whole White is right thing. Like Asian girls for example would just go after a White guy period and ignore an Asian guy because they somehow hate their culture. Black guys (no offense) in a lot of cases would go after the girl with the Whitest skin tone. Media doesn't tell them to do it, they just want one because that is who they attracted to.

Media makes Whites who only date other Whites out to be racist but they don't care, they don't who they want to date. People date who they want to date and at the end of the day, White is right in many ways. Like so many Black guys if given the opportunity would date a White girl and if not the next closest thing to White girls like a White Latina or a Latina. Same with Asian women, they will date a White guy and mostly do try their best to do so.

Media has no say in it, people just like what they like.

Definitely. Especially 'black' gossip blogs. Idk what the deal is but it's becoming very apparent nowadays, especially in comparison to their white counterparts.

I go on celebrity gossip sites all the time - both black and white - and you never see the white ones harping on celebrity couples who are "swirling it up". Just the black ones. It's really beginning to get on my nerves.

edit: LOL@ Cess! yeah. Bossip too. Doesn’t it irk you? They stay posting that sh!t like it’s the thing to do. And you KNOW young kids are gonna see it and try to emulate what their favorite stars are doing. Soooo disturbing!

I don't really get who this "media" is. Where I live I don't see this. And I don't have a T.v., the only interaction I get with the "media" is this site and maybe the yahoo headline page, so I am not really sure.
