Where to park near L'Enfant Plaza?

Hey everyone, staying at the Holiday Inn 550 C St. SW Washington, DC for Saturday night leaving Sunday. Where can I park that won't cost $35 a day? I know street parking and stuff like that is supposed to be free on the weekends, and I really just want to dump my car Saturday morning and come back to it Sunday morning and get out of town. And yes I have to drive, as I'm not too far away and flying isn't reasonable, and from Knoxville, TN there isn't another way of getting to DC. So would it be best to just park at the hotel for convenience, or are there spots near by that I can park on the street safely for free or nearby parking facilities that are cheaper? I just don't want to be in there a few minutes longer than 24 hours and get popped for another $35

There is a public garage under the L'Enfant Plaza building complex, very close to your hotel, where the rates are probably a bit lower. I believe they offer 24 hour parking (not all area garages do).

I wouldn't recommend street parking as that area is somewhat desolate at night (during the day it's fine).
