thanks colin. since the natives are supposed to use it, i m guessing the light is noticeable, i m still hoping for a video or something. i cant categorize this in two different sections maybe the mythology & folklore would be better idk

I can't help you with the quartz aspect I'm afraid, but it seems to be little known today that uranium nitrate crystals alsio exhibit triboluminescence. Assuming quartz is similar, the light emitted is pretty faint and you must be in a darkened room with you eyes adjusted to see it. Having said that, I've shaken uranium nitrate crystals in a darkroom many times and seen the yellowy light. Because it is so faint, taking a picture would be pretty difficult, even with a modern digital camera.
