Preparing to become a Graphic Designer?

Hey Guys,
So I've decided I want to be a Graphic Designer when I am older, I am fourteen years old and in year nine so I will be choosing my options soon. I had a rough idea of what I wanted but I don't know if what I chose will be of any help to becoming a Graphic Designer. I have already chosen the Design Technology I am doing which is Graphics, but will I have to take Art as well? What options should I choose that will be appropriate for my future career?
Also, how can I prepare and know what to do/expect in the future?
Thank you!
Additional Information will be added if needed!
Natalie x :)

Also, it'd be very helpful if you chose precisely three subjects because we can only choose three subjects for our options and I really want to prepare for being a Graphic Designer as much as I can. x :)

I'd say, maybe do an arty subject and IT, also Photography if it's available. And even maybe a language if you are/ can. I did Graphics at my school, and I feel it did link in with what some of my friends were doing (art, IT etc...) seeing as quite a bit of it surrounded those subjects (photo editing, marketing etc...)
I would also reccommend searching for a local advertising firm. I did some work experience at mine. It really helped me gain some experience.
Sorry I can't help much more, update if you like : )
Edit: Right, what are the best options would you say?
Anything arty, would probably be your best bet : )
