In sports betting, what is a labby line?

I keep reading about this, I understand it is a type of chase system, somehow similar to the martingale system. Anyone know about this? Google tells me nothing.

I have been using martingale with some success, the problem is, a 5 or 6 game losing streak, and your bankroll is out the window.

Labby?
Thanks

I have not heard of it, sorry.

If it's anything like the Martingale System, and if it truly relies on you NOT losing 5 or 6 in a row, then it is absolute rubbish!

The #1 factor in being a winning sports bettor is DISCIPLINE. Discipline means knowing that you WILL LOSE more than 6 in a row every now and then.

Well the labby system is different than the martingale, because in the martingale you have to constantly double your bet to get back to your original profit line. I know you know this already, I'm simply posting this for the unaware who stumble upon your question...

Example: If your original bet is 25 bucks...
you bet 25, to win 25
if you lose you bet 50 to win 25
if you lose you bet 100 to win 25
if you lose you bet 200 to win 25 etc...

This is because you have to take into account all of your progressions to that point.

Now in the labby system, you start with a 4 number line, and add together the first and last numbers in your line to create your bet.

Example: set a line at:

10-10-10-10 so your base bet is 20 (10+10)
if you lose, the bet is put at the end... so your new line is

10-10-10-10-20 so your base bet is 30 (10+20)

if you lose... 10-10-10-10-20-30 (base 40)

if you win though, you knock off the first and last number to create the new line of:

x-10-10-10-20-x, then a new base of 30

if you win... x-x-10-10-x-x ... your goal is to clear lines.... then every couple times you clear a line you can up your base line for example to 15-15-15-15 where your base bet starts at 30.

So as you can see it does take longer to build your profits, but with a deep bankroll you don't have to go risking crazy amounts of money to get back to your starting profit margin.
