Sarah Lawrence Graduation Debt?

Sarah Lawrence seems like a wonderful academic match, but the prospect of deep graduation debt intimidates me. One advantage I have is that when I file FAFSA, my lonely part-time job income will be the only reportable income, as I live with my unmarried mother who is a student with no income. 
       I know that Sarah Lawrence is reputed to be the most expensive college of the nation, but is the debt really that bad? Are their scholarship/grant packages substantial? What sort of debt am I looking at, here?
    Also, does anyone have any tips for writing the essay? Writing is typically my strong point, but the responsibility of writing something so critical to my future is beyond scary!

If you have determined that this is your college of choice, then you might go ahead and apply. Just because you apply and complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) does not obligate you to attend. This college offers information on their web page, and I've included the website. If you haven't yet decided on a college, try matching up your career with the best local choices. In-state tuition is always lower than out-of-state. 

Writing the essay is very important, so you'll want to talk to those who have successfully been accepted, check out books at your local library, and use online resources including the College Board's hints, which I've included. 

You're right when you say you need to distinguish yourself. Colleges are looking for students who can bring something enriching to their campus. Focus on those things in your experiences that were unique and inspiring. If you had a difficult experience, write about how you overcame your problem. Colleges want to bring students in who will be supportive of others, and who will be successful students. You must convince them you're the best thing they've seen with one essay, without a "laundry list" of accomplishments.
