My whirlpool duet washer sounds like a airplane landing during the spin cycle.?
I read that it is the bearings, bad tub and on on. If it is the bearings is it an easy fix? I am mechanically inclined, so me trying to fix it should be ok. I just don't want to fix something that is not the problem.

With the machine empty, see if you can wiggle the drum up and down. If you have any play, it is the bearings and you can start looking for another washer. Hopefully, another brand.
Well is it a top load or front load? If a top load, you are either looking at transmission or motor bearings. Both are fairly simple to replace, just make sure you get all gaskets and seals you will need to replace them. But if it is a front load washer then it is a bit more difficult to replace the bearings. For a front load I would recommend having a experienced service tech replace the motor or main bearings. For a top load you could try it yourself.
