How to tell my friends I'm going to the dance with a guy they like?

Well, I have a friend-date to the dance, but I don't know how to tell my friends because one of them was going to ask him, but chickened out and got another bf and my one friend thinks he is really sexy and I know will get jealous because she has before when I got on the yearbook staff and she didn't. Point is I can't tell my friends..they all like him and even if we're going as friends. One of my friends is crazy and will probably spread rumors(Never said I wanted her as a friend) and the other is my best friend and don't want to hurt her feelings. Ive never had a date to a dance before and I really want to tell people. I kind of want to show up my friends because they're always showing me up. It's confusing, but I need advice...help?

Whether you tell you friend(s) in advance or not, the fact is they will see you with the guy they like at the dance.  By then, they will probably feel betrayed.
Since this is the case, I would prefer to be candid and tell them that you have dated that guy.  I think you friends will be happy to see him there since you are together as a group, they have a chance to interact with him.  After all, they had not taken any action to invite him so he is available to the bold heart, that is you.  Whether anything develop from there, it is a case of the best 'man' .. in this case 'girl' wins.

Just let them figure it out on their own. Or tell them then apologize but say you are not going to NOT go with him just because they like him.

Just let them know abt u going to de dance...let them feel jealous...they'll get over it...they'll only get mad if u dnt tell them...
