Teacher gifts for the holidays?

My son just started pre-school. By the time the holidays come, he will have attended for 3 1/2 weeks. Am I obligated to get the teacher a gift? I don't mind getting the teacher something, but they also have 5 assistants, some working 4 days a week and some 2 days a week. Do I have to get a gift for everybody? If so, what should I get? I don't have much money to spend. Any suggestions?

An apple for the teacher wouldn't hurt.

You might consider a gift card or if you want to make it more meaningful you can make a gift in a jar. Here is what you need to do that. Mason Jar Ribbons & a bow Ingredients to fill the jar with (ex: ingredients for soup, brownies, cookies, coffee, cocoa, chili, etc.) All you do is fill the jar with the ingredients, in layers. Then, decorate the jar with ribbons and a bow. Place a card on with instructions on how to prepare the recipe. That's it! You are done. This is one gift that is sure to be a big hit with the teacher.

Get the main teacher a gift. I wouldn't worry about gifts for the assistants, unless they have been very helpful to you personally or your son. If you just want to be nice, something small for them, like a votive in a pretty holder.

You could always bake sweets like cookies, cake, brownies, or some special recipe that you are known for in your family. I wouldn't go and buy something because as you said the teacher has 4 assistants and you don't want to leave them out.

I would give a music card. They are so pretty and the music is nice when the card is opened.

Small fruit baskets are nice. You can usually get them at grocery stores.

Box of chocolate candy.

Or nothing.
