Do you think this is proof that religion is becoming less relevant?
Google has this new program Ngram, that lets you search for a word's popularity from 1500 to the present by seeing how many times it has been used in books.
When you look search for the word "God" the usage has decreased from 1800 to the present. Today it is about 20% as relevant as it was in the early 1800s. http://ngrams.googlelabs.com/graph?content=God&year_start=1800&year_end=2000&corpus=0&smoothing=3
And to those who might be attempted to say this is because less books are being printed some words have gone up in usage, take "Woman" for example. http://ngrams.googlelabs.com/graph?content=Woman&year_start=1800&year_end=2000&corpus=0&smoothing=3
So what do you think? Is God becoming less relevant?

There is more joy in Jesus in one day. Than there is in the World 365/24/7 I know, I tried them both.
We are in the end of time. The word of God will be preached to every civilization before Jesus comes back. Rather there are more believers now or before is irrelevant. The simple, personal truth is that you need to look into your heart. The Bible says that God will give a delusion to those who knew the truth and forsoke it. They will believe the lies to come.
i replaced into raised Catholic, yet my mom and father weren't quite non secular. It replaced into only who they have been and expected my siblings and that i to be. I had no thought for years, maximum of my childrens and 1920s. i ultimately study the Bible whilst i replaced into 27, had some astonishing very own reports and grew to alter right into a Christian. i did no longer get married interior the Catholic Church. My mom freaked, in spite of the undeniable fact that i can not submit to in concepts the final time she even stepped foot in a church. i replaced into baptized with my daughter whilst she made the choice to settle for Jesus. returned, many in my kin ought to no longer understand my decision to be baptized considering I have been as a sprint one. So now i'm a "non-denominational Christian". i do unlike divisions, have not got a particular church. I only attempt to persist with Jesus' occasion. some human beings nonetheless do no longer understand that, like I might desire to decide for a definite dogma, doctrine, church to be a genuine believer. Oh nicely. God Bless.
I see John Savage has said 'Wishful thinking' but this isn't your imagination - it's hard evidence that slowly but surely religion is loosing it's relevance as reason comes in to replace it.
