How to fix Christmas Light strand?

I have a Christmas light strand that in the middle a part of the strand stops working for a while and then works again. I can not find a strand like this in stores so i need to repair it. The wire doesn't seem to be ripped. How do i fix it?

basic troubleshooting with a VOM meter. Unplug and check continuity from the plug prong to each light socket if wired in paralell do on the neutral side and the hot side. The meter should read 1 or 2 ohms. If it reads OL or infineity you have an open. With series wired check from plug to first bulb then 1st bulb to second making sure nothings open. a shortcut woul be find a known good bulb and start replacing each one untill it starts workking again. It sounds like you have a wiring or socket issue.

This has surpassed off to me many circumstances. I even tend to plug to many strand into one yet another. i might unplug the 1st strand and notice if the others artwork. maximum possibly this is the fuses interior the 1st strand purely. If the different strands that have been out artwork whilst the 1st one is unplugged i might guess the fuses interior the 1st strand are your concern. i may be advantageous to no longer plug all of them returned collectively when you replace the fuses, use an extension twine and plug some into that. Merry Christmas!!!

you can fix them with this tool http://www.oogalights.com/Light-Keeper-Pro-String-Light-Repair-Tool.aspx

but, it's cheaper to throw the lights away and buy a new set.
