will a 60gb PS3 HDD work in a 160gb PS3?

my 60 gb PS3 died on me... (RIP) will the 60gb hdd work in a 160gb PHAT PS3? I want to get the data off of it and onto the new HDD? please help

Ive fixed it before and tried to fix it again. but I f@#$%! it up. So they need to make a product that is like the microsoft HDD transfer cable for the PS3 HDD

u can try fixing ur ps3,i already have fixed one 60gb and two 40gb with this video,but it's a temp fix.that only way
